This is Salisbury Film Connection, the only localized film school that offers real-world experience with working professional filmmakers. We have programs in all aspects of filmmaking and provide industry contacts to help get your foot in the door. Our specialized 6-month behind the scenes program will pair you with local mentors in your concentration who will help you develop your project. If directing is more your thing, then the 8-month comprehensive directors track is something that no other film program offers. In addition to writing, directing, and editing your project with your local mentors, you’ll work closely on your with another, Los Angeles-based, dream mentor. Salisbury, Maryland is located in southeast Maryland on the Eastern Shore, connected to the Chesapake Bay by the Wicomico River. It is Maryland's second-largest port city behind Baltimore–a fast-growing community, currently hosting a population of around 30,000, and experiencing a growth rate of nearly 20 percent over the last decade. Several entertainment personalities have hailed from this area, including actors John Glover and Linda Hamilton, as well as theater director Ryan J. Davis. Major movies, commercials, TV shows and documentaries are filmed all over Maryland on a regular basis, including the Salisbury area. Some of the films that have shot in the region include Body of Lies, Wedding Crashers, Deep Impact, The Blair Witch Project, Tuck Everlasting and The Social Network, to name a few. Additionally, some of the television productions that have done filming in this area include The Wire, Magnum, P.I., and Homicide: Life on the Street.
