This isn’t a boring Topeka film school classroom. This isn’t an overcrowded college laboratory. This is life. Real Life. YOUR LIFE.

Film school is expensive. It’s even more expensive when you live in Topeka, Kansas.

Well, that’s not entirely true, thanks to Film Connection Film School in Topeka, Kansas.

The Film Connection is a new breed of film school. It’s different. It’s new. And it exists to get you a job.

Crazy, right? Yeah, Crazy.

The Film Connection functions similarly to an externship program. We pair you with currently working film industry pros who are involved in creative endeavors similar to the ones that you’re interested in. They will then show you the ropes of the industry. Sounds great right? Wait, it gets better.

Concurrently, Film Connection will team you up with a Hollywood screenwriter, an editor, and two different mentors who will help you construct a feature film. Sounds awesome, right? It gets better.

The final step of our program is that we will set up a pitch meeting between you and a studio executive. You’ll actually get to pitch the movie that you’ve been working on.

The heart of the matter is that, in the film industry, it’s all about who you know. It’s all about being in the right place at the right time. And Film Connection gives you those contacts and puts you in those places.

Don’t Spend More on your Film Education if You Don’t Have to

Topeka, Kansas is the state capital of Kansas, a city of about 125,000 people. The area has historical significance because of the landmark court case Brown vs. the Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas, which effectively ended racial segregation in American schools. Entertainment industry people hailing from the Topeka area include rock band Kansas and actors Annette Bening and Gregg Binkley. Besides being home to several film or television production companies, Topeka is also within driving distance of other metro areas such as Kansas City, Omaha, and Tulsa, making it a good central area for identifying film locations. If you are considering a career in filmmaking as a film director, film producer, film editor, or cameraman, FILM CONNECTION can help you get your start right here in Topeka, as an alternative to relocating elsewhere.
