ACTUAL TESTIMONIALS FROM REAL FILM CONNECTION MENTORS AND THEIR STUDENTS

My
mentor already told me he wants me to direct music videos, while he's
doing these features
because you know music videos pay you less than the features. So he
wants me to start doing that. So I guess he was just training me,
getting me ready for that.

I
would recommend Film Connection over traditional schools because of the
fact that it puts you on a set immediately. Whether it's sound,
producing, directing, acting or whatever you are doing, you are being
thrown
right into it and it’s a much better way to learn as opposed to the
traditional classroom. You still get the books and curriculum and
you have to read the course material because it helps you absorb I
think
everything a lot quicker. That the big joke on set always was, you know
you spend $21,000 or $80,000 on education and then what do you do. You
have to be an intern anyway. So you are better off keeping that money,
going to the Film Connection Film School Alternative and being an
apprentice on then set and making your own movie with the money you
have left
over.

Well
a week after I joined the
program I was working on a famous music video which was a great
experience. It was my first opportunity with the program and the week
following that I was working on a Roger Corman movie which had a budget
of about $200,000 and by the time that film was over, I was the second
assistant director. So all in all it was a great experience and
through those two experiences I have met a ton of people, I
have made a bunch of connections and I have been able to keep
working in New York City during the past six months. I have also become
a
freelance production assistant on my own also using those connections.
So really it’s been a great experience.
