Entertainment Connection Obtains Sallie Mae Financial Aid Packages for Student Loans
Los Angeles, California, February 11, 2008–The Entertainment Connection, Inc., offering certificate programs in all aspects of filmmaking, radio broadcasting and audio engineering, today announced they will be offering a complete financial aid package from Sallie Mae, the nation’s leading provider of student loans.
Sallie Mae covers the entire tuition cost and also loans up to 60 percent additional funds for living expenses and/or equipment purchases. Students 18 years of age or older with good credit may qualify for a zero down, low interest loan, starting at Prime Rate + 0%, and take up to 15 years to pay it back. Entertainment Connection also provides other funding choices for those who don’t qualify for Sallie Mae.
Over the last 24 years more than 6,000 students have graduated from Entertainment Connection programs, creating a vast alumni network worldwide. Entertainment Connection provides educational apprentice (extern) programs for the entertainment arts including the film, radio, television and music recording industries.
The Film Connection has mentor programs in more than 250 U.S. cities in all fifty states. With corporate headquarters in Los Angeles, California and New York City, the Entertainment Connection schools are unlike any others, as students learn from successful mentors in real world situations in real studio and film sets as opposed to simulated classrooms.
Entertainment Connection’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer James (Jimi) Petulla said, ” While other national student loan programs are taking a beating, making it more difficult for some students to secure low-cost loans for college, we are delighted to introduce our new student loan programs which will make it easier for many students to sign up for our apprentice (extern) programs.”
Nationally, nearly two dozen student loan lenders have announced they are restricting, suspending or terminating new loans to students through the Federal Family Education Loan Program, or FFEL, the federally-guaranteed, low-cost initiative that provided college financing last year to 7 million students around the country.
