Located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in the northern part of South Carolina, the combined populations of nearby cities Greenville and Spartanburg total less than 100,000 people. However, these two towns anchor an 8-county area with a total population of over 1.2 million. The Greenville-Spartanburg area benefits from close proximity to beautiful natural scenery (making it ideal for location filming), as well as generous tax incentives offered by the state to draw filmmakers to the region. If you are looking for a career in filmmaking as a film director, film producer, film editor, or cameraman, you'll find the Greenville-Spartanburg area to hold a surprising amount of opportunity–and FILM CONNECTION can put you in the center of it.
Movies, commercials, TV shows and documentaries are filmed all over South Carolina on a regular basis, including in the Greenville-Spartanburg area. Some of the movies that have done location filming in this area and surrounding regions include Leatherheads, Chill Factor, The Afflicted, Coupe de Ville, Renaissance Man and Chasers, just to name a few.
