Mentors consist of professional filmmakers who specialize in cinematography, editing, producing, directing, and much more. Our Honolulu film school teaches everything you’d expect in a film institute, from directing and cinematography to editing and screenwriting and post-production. But instead of working on classroom projects, you’ll be working on projects that you’ll see in a theater, on broadcast TV, or on any number of streaming services. You’ll learn how to deal with uncooperative weather, dead camera batteries, and any number of surprises that can pop up on location.
But you can also learn about the business side of the industry and everything else that goes along with film production. How to hire cast and crew, how to secure funding, how to stick to a budget, and more. There are a lot of moving parts when it comes to making a movie, and we can take your existing skills and transform them into real-life careers.
Although Hawaii offers an amazing amount of backdrops for filmmaking, you might think you still have to head to entertainment hubs like New York or L.A. to get the education you need to make movies.
