Production School in Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Not like any other school, this is Audio Education Updated, Reimagined, and Revitalized. Are You Ready to Take Your Place?

We took that old stale classroom concept, rebuilt and upgraded it by putting your classroom in a professional recording studio. Then we emptied out all the other students and left only YOU and YOUR TEACHER (yay for one-on-one learning!) who happens to be a pro film producer (with killer credits) to train you privately (at your pace, full time, part time, nights or weekends available).

Your Montreal, Canada MUSIC RECORDING SCHOOL

We hit different and here is why:

More than 30 years ago, the Film Connection decided to offer a new way to teach film engineering and film production. We felt students were spending too much time and too much money without getting a true understanding of how the film industry really works.

Would you rather learn from an instructor in a classroom or from a PRO MUSIC PRODUCER inside a real-world recording studio? Get one on one attention throughout the program or jockey with other students for time with the teacher? Work every day with gear used by professional film engineers and film producers or wait until it’s your “lab time?”

Learning at university is a standard for many professions – but working in film as one’s profession is anything but standard. Sure, there are still required readings, homework, and exams. This isn’t playtime after all. You need to work hard. With us, you’ll just be working hard inside a MONTREAL RECORDING STUDIO instead of a classroom.

Instead of working with other students, you’ll be working with clients. Smaller local bands, regional acts, or even touring stars known throughout the world work with Film Connection mentors. Everyone you come into contact with is making a living in the industry. You’ll be learning first hand what working in film looks like.

This is real-life stuff we’re talking about. But we also understand you have a real-life outside of the studio, too. Your Academic Facilitator works with you to set up a schedule that fits with what you have going on. Universities set your schedule. The Film Connection leaves it up to you.

But you’re still required to work. Showing up late to the classroom may get disapproving looks from your teacher. Showing up late for a session with a client will cost you a job in the real world. Showing up on time, doing the work, and acting responsibly is the only way to take full advantage of our programs.

We feel we offer a better way to learn about film engineering and film production in Montreal. And we know we offer it for less money and less time than traditional four-year “name” universities. We have hundreds of testimonials and success stories from past graduates. Now is the time to amplify your life.

CLOSE TO HOME OR IN YOUR HOME

10 Miles, 10 Blocks, or 10 Seconds away from your future

With so many opportunities to learn from and work with the best in Montreal, there’s really no reason to leave for supposedly green pastures. Why move hundreds or even thousands of miles away when Film Connection offers a world-class education across town?

But even a 15-minute car ride on a consistent basis can be a hardship for some. Or maybe you’d like to learn from a film producer that you really admire. Or maybe a worldwide pandemic has made social distancing and self quarantines a part of day-to-day life.

We’ve been offering remote learning for decades to give access to as many people as possible. As the events of 2020 and beyond have shown us, being able to leave your home for any reason isn’t always possible. But film engineers and film producers need to be agile, willing to work at any time, often with little notice.

With remote learning, you’ll have the ability to train in a one-on-one manner with your mentor. If you have questions, all you have to do is ask. Want to get their advice on your latest track? Want to get a pro’s advice and have conversations, not lectures? All you need is a fast enough computer, strong internet or wifi, and a willingness to work as hard as you can when in the (virtual) studio.
