Film school shouldn’t cost you your life savings. Now it won’t because Springfield Film Connection is here to help you. If you’re interested in working behind the scenes, our 6-month program is right up your alley. After selecting a production facet that interests you, we’ll pair you up with local filmmaking professionals in that area that will meet with you at their studios or production houses. We’ve also got our 8-month directors track, which lets you collaborate with local mentors and dream mentors in Los Angeles. At the conclusion of this program, you will fly out to L.A. to pitch your idea before an industry executive. You’ll have industry contacts and real-world filmmaking experience. No other school can offer that.
Springfield, Missouri is located in the southwest part of the state, just up Interstate-44 from Joplin. Springfield has an approximate population of 158,000 people, but anchors a DMA media market that reaches over 1 million people. Entertainment industry professionals with ties to this area include game show host Bob Barker, actors John Goodman and Kathleen Turner, and vocal group The Jordanaires (made famous as the backup singers for Elvis Presley).
Often called the Gateway to the Ozarks, the Springfield area offers a diversity of natural beauty including mountains, forests, rivers and caves, making it a good area for location filming. It is also home to several production companies, and is in driving distance to major cities such as St. Louis and Kansas City.
