Wichita Falls, Texas is located about 2 hours northwest of the Dallas-Ft. Worth metro area, near the Oklahoma border, and is home to just over 100,000 people. Just north of Wichita Falls is Sheppard Air Force Base, a major Air Education and Training Command Center. Several production companies make their home here, and the city benefits from attractive tax incentives that draw filmmakers to Texas.
Many major movies, TV shows, and documentaries are filmed throughout Texas, including in and around Wichita Falls. Some of the movies that have done location filming in Wichita Falls and the surrounding regions of Texas include Double Negative, Big Country, Painted Hero, Any Given Sunday, Serving Sara, and the film classic The Last Picture Show, to name a few.
The distinct advantage FILM CONNECTION has over regular film schools is our mentor-extern approach. During our inexpensive, 6-month course, you’ll be paired with a working film or television professional who serves as your personal instructor and mentor, giving you hands-on training on real film and video shoots–bringing you in touch with vital industry connections in ways the normal film schools can’t.
