This isn’t a boring Binghamton film school classroom. This isn’t an overcrowded college laboratory. This is life. Real Life. YOUR LIFE.

Why do so many film school graduates never make it? Because they didn’t know anyone in the film business that could help their career. That’s why we do things differently at Binghampton Film Connection. We pair up students with mentors who work in the local film industry. You get hands-on training while you learn. You’ll either be behind the scenes learning your specialty at the side of a pro or become a director who creates their own project from idea to pitch. We’ve got people who have been there. Are you ready to join them?

Get Real World Film Production Experience in Binghamton

Binghamton, New York is a town of roughly 45,000 people, located about 3.5 hours northwest of New York City, along the southern tier of New York State near the Pennsylvania border. Interestingly, due to its location, the quickest route between Binghamton and NYC is through Pennsylvania and New Jersey. A number of entertainment industry professionals have ties to this area–some who were born here, some who came here to attend Binghamton University. These include actors William Baldwin, Bridget Moynahan and Amy Sedaris, as well as film directors Chris Wedge, David Weisman, Charlie Ahearn and Cliff Roth. Binghamton is within driving distance of many great locations for filming, including the Catskill Mountains, the Finger Lakes, and other major cities like Boston and Buffalo. If you are an aspiring film producer, film director, film editor or cameraperson–but would rather avoid the hustle and bustle of the big city–Binghamton provides a surprisingly convenient alternate location for you.
