Programs

In the Film Connection for Film Production & Editing program, you will study directing, producing and screenwriting inside a real film production company in your city as you develop your movie idea with a professional filmmaker. Then, upon meeting the necessary requirements, you will be given the opportunity to fly to Los Angeles or New York and pitch your film idea to an executive who could buy or get your movie made.

Film Production & Editing Details

In the Film Connection for Cinematography program, you will learn the techniques involved in capturing a moving image and will start to develop “the eye of the DP.” The cinematographer is literally the set ‘magician.’ DPs are responsible for the technological wizardry required to get the needed shots and to shape light to achieve the director’s desired artistic effect.

Workshops

The screenwriter is the person who creates, takes, or adapts an idea and formulates a screenplay. Without the writer, there would be no movie. Period. He or she is the starting gate. He or she is the person who gets the ball rolling down the hill.

In the Film Connection for Screenwriting workshop, you will learn the elements that make for a “Killer Script” by developing and writing your own feature length screenplay under the direction and mentorship of a working professional screenwriter.

Screenwriting Details

In many ways the film editor is the most misunderstood of all film professionals. Often considered just a film technician, a good editor is so much more than that. He or she is also a qualified storyteller of the highest order.

In the Film Connection for Film Editing workshop, you will develop your knowledge of storytelling and screenplay structure as the foundational blueprint of a film. You will also develop your technical understanding of editing as an extern to a professional editor in a post-production facility.

The Cheyenne, Wyoming Film Connection Film School Alternative

Do you want to be the next Quentin Tarantino? Do you live in Cheyenne? Do you have a drive for success and glory? Well, then the Cheyenne Film Connection Film School can help you. We match young aspiring filmmakers with seasoned industry pros who can help them navigate the quagmire of Hollywood. We team you up with a screenwriter, an editor, and two different mentors. And the coolest part? They’re all working on your idea. That’s right. You’re not working for them. They work for you. They’re talents are being put to use brining your big idea to fruition. You need to evaluate the state of the industry. The only way you’re breaking into the industry is if you know someone. The traditional film school doesn’t introduce you to people. It just helps you understand what’s been done before. But what’s the point of that? We’re blazing a new trail here. We want to go in to the future. Upwards and onwards, right? Film Connection gets you in the right place at the right time. Film Connection opens doors. Film Connection steers you toward success. Pure and simple. To APPLY for our Cheyenne Film School, click here. Cheyenne is Wyoming's state capital and largest city, home to nearly 58,000 people. Located in the southeast corner of the state not far from the Colorado and Nebraska state lines, Cheyenne is convenient to a wide range of gorgeous locations for filmmaking, including rolling prairies, majestic mountains, rock formations, rivers, railroad yards, and even urban areas (Denver is less than 2 hours to the south). Wyoming regularly serves as a location site for the filming of movies, TV shows, commercials, specials and documentaries–and the area in and around Cheyenne is no exception.  Examples of movies filmed in Cheyenne and the surrounding regions of Wyoming include Wicked Season, Hearsay, The Laramie Project, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Thickness of Delirium, and classic westerns Cheyenne Autumn and The Plainsman, to name a few.  If you are considering a career in filmmaking as a film director, film producer, film editor, or cameraman, Cheyenne affords a surprising amount of opportunity–and FILM CONNECTION can put you in the center of the action.  With our many professional connections and relationships forged over the years, FILM CONNECTION is able to connect you to the industry in ways other film schools can't. We accomplish this through our revolutionary mentor-extern approach, pairing you with a working film or TV professional who serves as your personal instructor on real film and video shoots. Over 70 percent of our graduates get hired, often even before they finish our course! You owe it to yourself to see what FILM CONNECTION of Cheyenne can do for you! To APPLY click here.
