With so many movies shooting in the area, is this a great time to be learning the filmmaking craft in Macon or what? We’ve partnered up with Macon’s numerous production companies to provide an unprecedented filmmaking opportunity that you shouldn’t miss! We’re Macon Film Connection.

On one hand is our 6-month behind the scenes track. This program features mentorships with working film professionals in the Macon area. You will meet regularly with your mentors in their studios or production offices to get the kind of hands-on training that only comes with years of experience in the business.

Our more comprehensive 8-month director track features not only local mentors but mentors in L.A. as well. During an exciting final week that will culminate in a trip to L.A, you will meet with your dream mentors face to face and get an exclusive chance to pitch your project to a highly successful executive that will give you the kind of analysis of your project that most Hollywood insiders can only dream of!

Macon, Georgia is located in the central part of the state, along the major artery I-75 a short distance south of Atlanta. Although this area isn't known for an abundance of film schools, there are a number of film or television production companies in the Macon area–and that's where FILM CONNECTION puts you. Macon is also in driving distance of mountains, coastline and big cities like Atlanta, making it strategic for location filming.  Finally, Macon benefits from Georgia's generous tax incentive program for filmmakers, offering credits of up to 30 percent for films shot in the state.
