Production School in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Not like any other school, this is Audio Education Updated, Reimagined, and Revitalized. Are You Ready to Take Your Place?

We took that old stale classroom concept, rebuilt and upgraded it by putting your classroom in a professional recording studio. Then we emptied out all the other students and left only YOU and YOUR TEACHER (yay for one-on-one learning!) who happens to be a pro film producer (with killer credits) to train you privately (at your pace, full time, part time, nights or weekends available).

Your Toronto, Canada MUSIC RECORDING SCHOOL

We hit different and here is why:

With a population of more than 6 million people, one of the busiest airports in the world, once the third largest film and television capital in the world, Film Connection is on the ground of this international hub of entertainment.

Although there are many TORONTO AUDIO ENGINEERING SCHOOLS to choose from, we feel our programs offer something just a little bit different. Instead of putting you in a classroom, we immerse you in a real-world recording studio environment. Instead of sharing the attention of a teacher, you’ll work one-on-one with a PRO MUSIC PRODUCER.

Instead of a pre-determined syllabus that’s been rehashed year after year, our mentors craft a curriculum based on what you need as well as what the film industry needs right now, not a decade ago. No prerequisites, no references, no filmal background? No worries. All you really need to take part in our 6-9 month programs is a desire to learn, the determination to put in the work, and the drive to see it all the way to the end.

Certainly, there are aspects of the TORONTO AUDIO ENGINEERING AND MUSIC PRODUCTION Program that might make you think of traditional schools. This includes the eBook full of valuable instruction and information, tests, and work you do on your own time. Remember – this isn’t playtime.

Our mentors are industry professionals working in PROFESSIONAL TORONTO RECORDING STUDIOS. You’ll learn how to work with the artists, sit in on sessions, and maybe even take control of your own session. But this won’t happen if you play on your phone the whole time.

You have to want it. We’ll give you a solid base, but what you build on top of that is up to you. When the program is over, and another producer asks your mentor for some new blood, are they going to say your name? When your mentor thinks of you, what will they remember?

As we said before, Toronto has a lot to offer its citizens, including a variety of places to learn film engineering and film production. But when everyday norms are disrupted by a worldwide pandemic, how many will be able to stay open? How many will be able to continue to give you an education?

That hasn’t been an issue for Film Connection. Over the past three decades, we’ve been building our mentor base to allow students from all over Canada and the U.S. to learn the film business from the inside of the industry. But we also designed our programs to be taken from inside your home.

For years, we’ve been offering externs the choice of remote learning. If you have a fast enough computer and internet access, you can work with any of our mentors. Whether it’s a Toronto film producer you really admire, a Memphis film engineer with bluesy roots, or a hard-rocking film engineer in L.A., you can train with any of them, all from the safety and comfort of your home.

Featured Toronto Film Production Mentors on Location or Remote

The Film Connection offers something no “name” 4-year university or film engineering and film production trade school can. From day one, you’ll be placed in a professional recording studio and receive one-on-one mentoring from award-winning producers and engineers.

With more than 200 locations across N. America, you won’t have to travel thousands of miles for this immersive experience. You learn what it takes to make it in the film business from the inside alongside industry professionals. This includes recording, mixing and mastering, hardware and software, live sound design, and even business skills.

TORONTO MENTOR INFORMATION

Hip Hop all-stars like Ludacris, Mos Def, Fat Joe, and Ghostface Killah and pop ingenues Nelly Furtado, Pink, and Hillary Duff, not to mention, arena rock legends Kiss and Air Supply. They’ve even worked with Herbie Hancock, Walt Disney, Drew Barrymore, Res, and more.
