Film Connection does a fantastic job placing you on REAL sets with EXPERIENCED directors, opening doors to build meaningful connections with your mentor and ensuring ongoing learning. You truly get out of the program what you put in.
Learn film production in Vermont directly from an industry pro, in the real world, not a classroom. One-on-one mentorship. Build Industry Connections and Gain Real Experience.
The Vermont Film Connection gives you an inroad to the film industry that no other film school can boast. How? By placing you in the heart of the action, as a working extern in a real production facility. Your “classroom” is on-the-job and on the set, and your teacher is an actual working filmmaker who serves as your personal mentor, training you one-on-one. To break into the film business, the place to learn is NOT in some isolated college or trade school classroom; you need to be where the action is happening. This is where we put you, from day one—and we’re the only film school that does it!
What do you want to be? A cinematographer? A film editor? A producer? A director? A screenwriter? Whatever you want to do in film, we have a mentor to teach you. Whether you choose to establish yourself in the Vermont film scene, or whether you want to go all the way to Hollywood, your path into the film industry begins here!
Need proof? Take a look at this partial list of major motion pictures that have filmed on location in this state:
When productions like this come to the state to film, they often rely on local talent—not to mention the many independent film and local productions that take place on an ongoing basis. There are plenty of opportunities in Vermont to connect to the film industry—IF you’re in the right place at the right time. The Vermont Film Connection puts you closer to the right place and time than any other film school can.
With our on-the-job training approach, you’ll be placed with a film mentor who specializes in your particular area of interest, whether directing, editing, producing, screenwriting, cinematography, etc. Our structured curriculum can be adapted and personalized to your particular needs and ambitions in film—even if your dream is to break into the Hollywood scene! That’s right: if you so choose, your mentor will tailor the curriculum to guide you through the steps of developing your own film idea from concept to completion, and when you graduate, we will arrange for you to pitch your film in Los Angeles to real film executives! (We bet you can’t name another film school that does this for its students.)
What do you suppose this type of education costs? You’d be surprised. We’re not interested in burying you in student debt right when you’re trying to launch your career, so we keep your tuition rates amazingly low: in fact, our rates are 75% LESS than most other film schools! You’re reading that correctly: we give you one-on-one training on-the-job with a real film professional, and we charge you 75% less than if you took the same course in a college classroom.
Our film training program has endorsements from some of the most influential people in the entertainment industry, many of whom choose to teach for us. They know that when push comes to shove, a degree or certificate alone won’t help you break into this business. You need real work experience and real industry connections if you’re going to succeed, and that’s why these professionals stand behind our unique on-the-job approach. If you’re serious about a career in film, you owe it to yourself to give the Vermont Film Connection a look. APPLY FOR FREE to find out more!
