The Hawaii Film Connection creates opportunities for its students that no other film school in the state can provide. While other film schools charge ridiculous tuition rates to stick you in a classroom, we place you as a working extern in a real film production facility, literally learning on-the-job—and we do it for a fraction of the cost.
That’s right. Learn cinematography, film editing, screenwriting, directing and producing one-on-one from a real film professional as you work on the set of real productions. Get real-world experience and become an industry insider while you are still a film student. Meet and connect with real industry professionals. Prove yourself through hard work and commitment. Develop your own film idea and then, with our help, pitch that film to actual Hollywood executives! The Film Connection in Hawaii offers all these opportunities as a normal part of your studies. No other film school even comes close.
Due to its exotic location, Hawaii has long been a favorite backdrop for major film and television productions. In a very real sense, you can make major connections here without having to move to Hollywood, because Hollywood comes to Hawaii all the time!
You can see that there are many opportunities to get plugged into the film industry right here in Hawaii—and through our unique mentor-extern learning approach, the Hawaii Film Connection puts you in the middle of it where other film schools can’t.
Our teaching methods are endorsed by some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. With our program, you work through a structured curriculum, do homework and practice your skills, with one-on-one training from your mentor. Whatever your area of interest—cinematography, script writing, editing, production or directing—we can pair you with an industry pro who specializes in that field. And if your ultimate goal is to break into Hollywood as a filmmaker, your mentor will guide you step-by-step through the process of developing your own film idea—and at the end of your training, we’ll arrange for you to pitch your film in person directly to Hollywood! There truly is no opportunity like this anywhere else.
And there’s more. Because we realize that student debt can kill your career before it even begins, we have committed to keeping your costs as low as possible. How low, you ask? How about 75% LESS than most other film schools charge? Yes, we said 75 percent. While other film schools bury you in high tuition rates, ours are so low that you can graduate with little to no debt—and because you’ve spent all that time actually working in the film industry, you’ll already have your foot in the door to start your new career.
If you’re serious about breaking into the film industry, you owe it to yourself to see what the Hawaii Film Connection can do for you. For all the details and to schedule a tour of the production facility that could become your personal classroom, APPLY FOR FREE today!

In the Film Connection for Film Production & Editing program, you will study directing, producing and screenwriting as you develop your movie idea with a professional filmmaker. Then, upon meeting the necessary requirements, you will be given the opportunity to fly to Los Angeles or New York and pitch your film idea to an executive who could buy or get your movie made.
Film Production & Editing DetailsIn the Film Connection for Cinematography program, you will learn the techniques involved in capturing a moving image and will start to develop “the eye of the DP.” The cinematographer is literally the set ‘magician.’ DPs are responsible for the technological wizardry required to get the needed shots and to shape light to achieve the director’s desired artistic effect.
