THE FILM INDUSTRY IN TEXAS

There’s no other film school in Texas that can afford you a more direct connection to the film industry than the Texas Film Connection.  Why? Because no other film school puts you in the heart of the action like we can!  With our unique program, you won’t spend a single day in a college or trade school classroom.  Instead, you’ll be on-the-job and on the set from day one, studying as an extern one-on-one with a seasoned film industry professional. While those other film students are wasting time in the classrooms, you’ll be gaining valuable work experience and making lots of connections.  By the time those students come around knocking on the doors, you’ll already be inside the door!

Whether you plan on becoming a cinematographer, film director, editor, producer or screenwriter, we’ve got a mentor that can help you focus on your interests.  Whether you live in Amarillo, Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Lubbock, Corpus Christi or anywhere in between, your path to Hollywood starts in Texas!

Film Production Programs and Courses for a new age for artists in California. Learn, create, record and share. Let’s amplify your life, together.

THE BEST PART IS THAT YOU DON’T HAVE TO LEAVE TEXAS TO START MAKING CONNECTIONS TO THE FILM INDUSTRY.  NOT ONLY DOES TEXAS HAVE ITS OWN THRIVING LOCAL, REGIONAL AND INDEPENDENT FILM SCENES, BUT LOTS OF MAJOR MOTION PICTURE AND TV PRODUCTIONS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF TEXAS’ WIDE RANGE OF SCENERY AND GENEROUS INCENTIVES TO COME ON LOCATION TO FILM.

Here are just a few examples of major productions that have been filmed in the great state of Texas:

  • Armageddon (1998)
  • Robocop (1987)
  • What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993)
  • True Grit (2010)
  • Friday the 13th (2009)
  • Friday Night Lights (2004)
  • Dallas (TV Series, 1978-1991)
  • Dallas (TV Series, remake, 2012-present)
  • There Will Be Blood (2007)
  • Bernie (2011)
  • Prison Break (TV Series, 2005-2009)
  • Chef (2014)
  • Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)

You can see that there are plenty of opportunities in Texas to get connected to the film industry—but you WON’T get those opportunities sitting in a film school classroom.  You have to be where the action is happening—and that’s where the Texas Film Connection puts you, from the very first day of your training.

With our program, you will attend class on-site at a real film production facility, either in the studio or on the set.  You’ll be paired with a mentor who specializes in your particular field of interest, whether directing, producing, screenwriting, cinematography, etc.  You’ll follow a structured curriculum that will guide you through the basics, but the “tricks of the trade” are learned hands-on with your mentor.  And if you have dreams of breaking into the L.A. film scene with your own film…we can help with that, too!  Your mentor will take you step-by-step through the process of developing your own film idea, and then we’ll arrange for you to pitch that film in Los Angeles to ACTUAL HOLLYWOOD EXECUTIVES!  (When we say your path to Hollywood starts in Texas, that’s exactly what we mean.)

One word of caution: you should avoid student debt if at all possible, because it can overwhelm you and kill your dream.  With the high tuition rates of most film schools, student debt is practically unavoidable—but not with us.  For all the connections and one-on-one training we offer, your costs will be about 75% LESS than if you attend any other film school!  Why? Because we believe in helping you launch your dream, not burying you in debt.

Are you ready to take some real steps to get your film career off the ground?  Are you ready to get connected to the film industry while learning from inside it?  If so, let us get you started today!
